The features worth knowing

Small reader. Useful everyday upgrades.

The appeal is practical: keep a book close, choose how to turn the page and carry on reading when the light changes. These are the features that make the Pro worth a closer look.

Magnetic attachment

Keep a book beside your phone.

Built-in magnets let the X4 Pro attach to compatible phones, cases and magnetic accessories. Carry the two together, then detach the reader when you want a reading break. Check your phone, camera clearance and case fit; the magnetic attachment does not mean wireless charging.

Night reading

One more chapter, even after dark.

Adjust both brightness and the warm/cool tone of the built-in front light. That makes the Pro useful on a dim train or at the bedside without a separate reading lamp. Unlike the X3, it has its own front light—an important difference if you often read in the evening.

72g · 5.95mm

A smaller daily carry.

The slim body and 4.3-inch screen make this a pocket-first reader. Our take: it is most interesting when your usual e-reader is too bulky to bring along.

Touch + physical buttons

Tap the menu. Press for the next page.

Use touch for navigation and settings, or physical buttons for page turns. Having both gives you a choice when holding a small reader in one hand.

16GB · expandable to 256GB

Room for a growing book collection.

A microSD card is included, with expansion supported. Storage is generous for compatible text-based books; the number you can hold depends on file sizes.

Companion app + personalisation

Make the reader your own.

Manage compatible books and wallpapers through the XTEINK app. Photo and clock displays add personalisation; check current app and firmware support for XT-Cloud’s additional information features.

The Renvaryn take

A pocket reader with a stronger case after dark.

Our take: the Pro’s combination of magnetic carry, a front light and two control methods makes it an appealing everyday companion. At the checked UK prices, it costs £6 more than the X3. That is a useful upgrade to consider if you read at night or prefer touch navigation. The X3 still wins on minimum size and weight; either choice should start with confirming that your books are compatible.

Our status: This is a research guide, not a hands-on review. Manufacturer figures remain labelled as claims and may differ in real use.

Who it is for

For the commute, the bedside and the spaces between.

01

Everyday commuters

Keep reading close at hand without adding a full-size reader to an already busy bag. Compatible magnetic attachment is part of the appeal.

02

Evening readers

The built-in front light is useful when you move from daylight to a dim train, hotel room or bedside.

03

Readers with their own files

Most compelling when you already keep an organised library of compatible, DRM-free books.

How it works

Check a book. Transfer it. Make time for a few pages.

  1. 1
    Start with compatibility

The detailed specification lists EPUB and TXT documents. Do not assume protected purchases or subscriptions transfer across.

  2. 2
    Import your files

XTEINK describes transfer through its companion app or computer USB mode, using the device’s magnetic charging connection.

  3. 3
    Set the light and text

Adjust brightness, warm/cool tone and your preferred reading view. Use touch for menus or the physical buttons to turn pages.

  4. 4
    Find your daily carry setup

Keep it in a pocket or pair it with a compatible magnetic phone/case. Developer features are optional; the core job is reading your books.

The decision

Choose it if…

  • You want pocket portability plus a built-in light for evening reading.
  • You are comfortable managing compatible local book files.
  • You like magnetic carry and a choice of touch or physical page-turn controls.
  • You understand the trade-off between portability and page size.

A different fit if…

  • You need guaranteed Kindle, Kobo or Libby account integration.
  • Large text, detailed PDFs or illustrated pages are central to your reading.
  • You want one device for books, apps, audiobooks and extensive note-taking.
  • You need confirmed waterproofing or a straightforward local returns process.
What matters in practice

Book formats

Your library is the first buying check.

XTEINK’s broad comparison lists more formats than its detailed specification. Treat PDF and MOBI support as unconfirmed for your intended firmware. Ask about your actual files; do not buy on the assumption that a store app can be installed.

Small screen

Choose the view that suits your reading.

The compact screen makes it easy to keep a book close. If you prefer generous text sizes or complex layouts, compare the physical screen size with your current reader so the pocket format works for you.

Power

Check the charging kit, not just the battery.

The specification lists a 1,100mAh battery and pogo-pin connection. The current box list includes a magnetic adapter; the FAQ says no charging cable is included. We have not tested battery endurance.

Phone attachment

Check the fit of your actual phone.

The supplied affiliate content highlights magnetic attachment with compatible phones and accessories. It does not mean every phone or case is a perfect match. Ask about your setup before adding accessories.

Quick comparison

Where it fits.

The X4 Pro is £6 more at the UK prices checked on 28 August 2026. Its main upgrades are a larger screen, a front light and touch controls. The X3 is smaller and lighter, with higher pixel density. Prices are snapshots; specifications are manufacturer figures.

What does the extra £6 buy?

Choose the Pro if built-in night lighting, a larger display and touch navigation matter to you. Choose the X3 if the smallest, lightest device is the priority and you usually read in good ambient light. The larger Pro battery is a capacity specification—not proof of proportionally longer runtime. The price gap may change.

Before you buy

Make it the right choice for you.

01

Confirm your book workflow

Ask XTEINK about your book source, file format and any DRM restrictions. A compatible sample book is a more useful check than an app-support assumption.

02

Check the model and delivered total

Select X4 Pro in the store and your delivery region. Prices and offers change; check shipping and any tax or import charges before paying.

03

Allow time for delivery

The UK is listed as supported. XTEINK quotes 1–5 days processing and 5–10 business days European transit, as estimates rather than a delivery guarantee.

04

Clarify returns before ordering

The detailed policy gives 30 days, conditions on packaging and accessories, and customer-paid return shipping. Regional wording is unclear: confirm UK eligibility and the return address with XTEINK. Do not assume free returns.

Frequently asked

Questions worth answering.

Can it attach magnetically to my phone?+

It has a magnetic back for compatible phones, cases and accessories. Confirm your particular setup with XTEINK, including camera clearance. Attachment magnets are not a promise of wireless charging.

Can I read in the dark?+

Yes, XTEINK specifies a built-in front light with adjustable brightness and warm/cool tone on the X4 Pro. The X3 has no built-in front light and needs ambient or an external reading light.

How much does it cost in the UK?+

We observed £75 for X4 Pro and £69 for X3 on XTEINK’s UK/GBP listings on 28 August 2026. These are dated product-price snapshots, not a live or delivered-price guarantee. Confirm the total at checkout.

Is this a Kindle replacement?+

Not automatically. XTEINK describes a local-file reader, not a guarantee that your existing bookstore, subscription or library account will work. We would check that first.

Why focus on X4 Pro rather than X3?+

The supplied creative pack includes both. The Pro’s lighting and controls give it a broader everyday use case; the X3 remains worth comparing if minimum size matters more to you.

Does it have a normal USB-C socket?+

The manufacturer lists pogo-pin charging. Check the current adapter and cable requirements before ordering; do not assume your usual USB-C cable plugs directly into the reader.

Can I use different firmware?+

XTEINK says units bought through its official site are exempt from third-party firmware restrictions. That is an option for experienced users, not a guarantee of extra app, book-store or DRM compatibility. Check support and warranty implications before making changes.

Has Renvaryn tested it?+

Not yet. This guide combines manufacturer documentation, supplied affiliate creative descriptions and our own buying analysis. We have not independently measured performance or verified long-term reliability.
