Worth knowing before you buy.
- For your own book files. The detailed specification lists EPUB and TXT. Protected purchases and subscriptions do not automatically transfer; the small screen is less suited to complex PDFs.
- Pack the right connection. Uses pogo-pin charging, not a USB-C socket on the reader. The listed magnetic adapter is included; the FAQ says no charging cable.
- Allow delivery time. XTEINK quotes 1–5 days processing plus 5–10 business days European transit, as estimates.
- Understand return costs. The retailer lists 30-day return requests and a one-year warranty. Its policy makes return shipping customer-paid and states no restocking fee for ordinary returns; a separate 50% fee can apply to failed delivery caused by customer error. Original packaging and unused accessories are required. Confirm the return address.
Choose Pro for night lighting, a larger screen and touch controls; X3 for minimum size and weight. The price gap may change. Pro’s larger battery is not proof of proportionally longer runtime.

- Start with compatibility. The detailed specification lists EPUB and TXT documents. Do not assume protected purchases or subscriptions transfer across.
- Import your files. XTEINK describes transfer through its companion app or computer USB mode, using the device’s magnetic charging connection.
- Set the light and text. Adjust brightness, warm/cool tone and your preferred reading view. Use touch for menus or the physical buttons to turn pages.
- Find your daily carry setup. Keep it in a pocket or pair it with a compatible magnetic phone/case. Developer features are optional; the core job is reading your books.

Your library is the first buying check. XTEINK’s current detailed specification lists EPUB and TXT documents. Its buying guidance asks readers to confirm PDF, MOBI and DRM requirements for their intended firmware. Ask about your actual files; do not buy on the assumption that a store app can be installed.
Choose the view that suits your reading. The compact screen makes it easy to keep a book close. If you prefer generous text sizes or complex layouts, compare the physical screen size with your current reader so the pocket format works for you.
Check the charging kit, not just the battery. The specification lists a 1,100mAh battery and pogo-pin connection. The current box list includes a magnetic adapter; the FAQ says no charging cable is included. We have not tested battery endurance.
Check the fit of your actual phone. XTEINK describes magnetic attachment with compatible phones and accessories. It does not mean every phone or case is a perfect match. Ask about your setup before adding accessories.

What warranty and return support is listed?

Can it attach magnetically to my phone?
It has a magnetic back for compatible phones, cases and accessories. Confirm your particular setup with XTEINK, including camera clearance. Attachment magnets are not a promise of wireless charging.
Can I read in the dark?
Yes, XTEINK specifies a built-in front light with adjustable brightness and warm/cool tone on the X4 Pro. The X3 has no built-in front light and needs ambient or an external reading light.
How much does it cost in the UK?
We observed £99 for X4 Pro (displayed regular price £109) and £69 for X3 (displayed regular price £79) on XTEINK’s UK/GBP listings on 16 October 2026. These are dated product-price snapshots, not a live or delivered-price guarantee. Confirm the total at checkout.
Is the X4 Pro currently available?
Yes at the latest dated check: on 16 October 2026, XTEINK showed the Space Black reader and both Base bundles available. Confirm the exact option before paying.
Is this a Kindle replacement?
Not automatically. XTEINK describes a local-file reader, not a guarantee that your existing bookstore, subscription or library account will work. We would check that first.
Why focus on X4 Pro rather than X3?
The Pro’s built-in light, larger screen and touch controls suit reading across different places and light levels. The smaller, lighter X3 remains worth comparing if minimum size matters more to you.
Does it have a normal USB-C socket?
The manufacturer lists pogo-pin charging. Check the current adapter and cable requirements before ordering; do not assume your usual USB-C cable plugs directly into the reader.
Can I use different firmware?
XTEINK says units bought through its official site are exempt from third-party firmware restrictions. That is an option for experienced users, not a guarantee of extra app, book-store or DRM compatibility. Check support and warranty implications before making changes.
