OutIn Nano 2 for days out: coffee without a kettle

Your coffee stop does not have to depend on finding a café. OutIn Nano 2 heats its own water, so you can make a short coffee when you stop after a walk or settle in beside the tent. You still need water, coffee and a cup, plus a plan for charging and clean-up.
Nano 2 makes sense for someone who wants espresso away from a kettle. What catches our attention is the combination: onboard heating, a choice of grounds or capsules, and battery capacity intended for several short coffees. This is our research-based recommendation, not a hands-on verdict on taste or endurance.

What makes Nano 2 useful on a day out
You bring the water; it supplies the heat. A charged Nano 2 can heat room-temperature water without a kettle or a socket while brewing. That makes the pause after a walk a possible coffee stop, rather than another search for somewhere open. Add milk to your cup afterwards if you want it; the machine’s tank is for water only.
Your coffee can be as simple or involved as you like. Use espresso-appropriate grounds for control over the coffee, or Nespresso Original Line-compatible capsules when you want less preparation. Vertuo and Dolce Gusto capsules do not fit. Capsules or suitable pre-ground coffee also let you leave a grinder out of the bag.
Battery capacity for more than one coffee stop. OutIn lists up to nine heated brews per charge, each using 50ml of water heated from 25°C to 93°C. It also lists heating as fast as 159 seconds with 50ml starting at 25°C. These are manufacturer lab claims, not our results or a promise for cold-weather trips; water temperature, serving size and conditions affect performance.
There is a real kit to carry. OutIn lists the machine at 740g, before your water, coffee and other supplies. Plan for a cup and clean-up, and charge before leaving. Its 45W USB-C PD charging requires a suitable charger and cable for that rate; disconnect it before brewing. Do not assume an old low-power phone charger will give the advertised charging performance.
The original Nano Basket Plus does not fit Nano 2. If you already own one, it cannot come across as part of this setup.
When the Fino grinder earns its place
If choosing beans and grinding before each coffee is part of the pleasure, Fino gives you a cordless electric option without hand-cranking. OutIn lists 28 grind settings and a 690g grinder weight. That is extra equipment to enjoy using, and extra weight to carry.

Choose Nano 2 alone if you use capsules, suitable pre-ground coffee or already have a suitable grinder. Consider the Fino pairing if a fresh-bean routine is what you want to add. Nano 2’s appeal is having more say over where you make your coffee, with no separate kettle at the stop. Start with the machine unless grinding beans is a reason you want to buy the bundle.
